#11.5 Wrangler National Patriot

Is the Wrangler National Patriot truly an Invitational?
Yes! Your entry, along with all the other ropers, is sorted diligently to ensure that only legitimate #11.5 teams
are allowed to compete. Data is delivered from the US Classification office on each participant via the fact
that all ropers must have competed at a USTRC/WSTR event in the prior 18 months. The committee will ensure
that a level playing field is compiled.
Who competes at the Wrangler National Patriot?
The average roper age in 2018 was 54 years old. The youngest was 30 and the oldest was 80 years old. We
truly had an international field, as we had teams from Canada in addition to contestants from over 24 states
in the US. The Hawaii competitors won the “furthest traveled” distinction of all competitors in 2018.
How much does the Wrangler National Patriot pay back to the roper?
80% of all the entry fees are paid back to the ropers. In 2018 we didn’t top load the roping and spread the
money more evenly around all the winners. We have heard you, and we will change the payout structure for
2019 and will guarantee $200,000 to the winners (over 100 teams). In addition to the cash, the prize line will
be legendary. Cactus Full Tooled Saddles, Gist Buckles, YETI Coolers, Heel-O-Matic dummies, Resistol Black
Gold Hats, Cactus Leather Rope Bags, BEX Glasses, Justin Boots and much more.
Who are the Charities that benefit form the Wrangler National Patriot Roping?
Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, Warriors and Rodeo, and new this year, Pinocchio’s Moms on the Run. With our
great partnerships at Priefert and Heel-O-Matic we are able to auction off some great items that will help
support these great causes. These auction items are one-of-a-kind and are definitely the talk of the cowboy
Will my family enjoy the Wrangler BFI Week?
Absolutely! As a roper you will enjoy an even set of cattle, the WSTR barrier, and a great cash and prize
payback. The Silver Legacy Hotel, which is the host hotel for all Wrangler BFI Week Events now has the
legendary Ruth Chris Steakhouse open and waiting to serve you that famous food and hospitality they are
known for. Don’t forget the Reno Rodeo will celebrate the 101st Anniversary and as always it will be the
Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West. Looking for more roping, the WSTR Qualifier will take place in Reno, June
19th-21st. Want to see the outstanding youth of our sport, The JR BFI Qualifier will take place at the Reno
Livestock Event Center on June 20th.
We truly believe that you and your family will enjoy the time you spend with us during the 2020 BFI Week in
Reno. June 23rd is your day and the Wrangler National Patriot #11.5 is going to once again be one of the
greatest ropings of the year, thanks to you! See you at the Silver Legacy for check-in!
